In a traffic accident that occurred on the evening of February 13, 2026 on the Nicosia – Famagusta highway, a westbound bus veered off the road and fell into a ditch about 6 meters deep, injuring the driver and a passenger, according to Kıbrıs Postası.
The vehicle, registration number TAA 970 K and driven by Ali Kelechi (58), lost control at the bend near the Halkbank junction after first hitting the median divider. He then ran off the main road, hit a wall and ended up in the ditch with the tires up.
They were transferred to the “Nicosia State Hospital” “Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu” both the driver and the passenger of the bus, Bogdan Sushchuk (20), where they are receiving medical attention. Their health condition is described as stable and their treatment continues.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the exact cause of the accident.
