“The paradox was that in this area, when an initial inspection had been implemented and then violated the decree,” said the Director of the Consumer Protection Service.
The Consumer Protection Service imposed a fine of 5,000 euros on a GSP canteen for a breach of the Decree of the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, which set the highest water sale price, as confirmed by the Director of the Service, Konstantinos Karagiorgis.
In his statements to the CIP, Mr Karagiorgis said that from the day the decree was implemented on February 28, inspections began in the places where the decree had to be implemented.
“In the first two, three days, you realize that not everyone did it, because they might not have been right. So we gave them a margin of 4, 5 days and after all the points were informed to apply it, we started the inspections again and saw that it was applied universally. Yesterday, however, in a new inspection – because they are regularly made – it was found that the decree was violated in this area, so simply in this case was reported, the owner of the canteen was informed and the fine was imposed as the legislation provided. “
Mr Karagiorgis noted that the decree in view of the summer should also be applied to 19 beaches.
“We call on all the points and theme parks, waterpark and so on, to properly apply what the decree provides, because we certainly do not want to impose the fine, but on the other hand the laws must be applied, otherwise we have a lawlessness that certainly does not serve them or help them, Complete.
Asked if there was generally compliance with the decree, Mr Karagiorgis responded affirmatively, saying that yes, it was implemented.
“The paradox was that in this area, when an initial inspection had been implemented and then violated the decree. Specifically, he applied the decree and after 3 weeks violated the decree “which he said is very serious, as he became his knowledge,” hence the fine “.
The issue of imposing a fine on the canteen was highlighted by the “Liberal” on Thursday.
