Apostasy for MVPs – Surprise and Emotion for Huge Andrea Makri

The Pancyprian Association of Footballers and Unicars, a Volkswagen car representative in Cyprus, held the established awards on Thursday night (27/03/25). As is well known, the 26 footballers were selected as the tops of each race through the evaluation of the INSA Institute of Sports Analysis (Insa).

The event took place at the Volkswagen exhibition in Nicosia and the awards of the awards to the players was made by Unicars by Konstantinos Ananiadis (Marketing Manager), Polis Polydorou (Chief Operating Officer) and Savvas Paul. The awards were also made by PASP Executive President Spyros Neofitidis and Charity Idols President Stavros Kouris.

The main feature of this year was the fact that for the first time the institutionalization of the MVP of the Week awards, a winner in each match was a different footballer.

A special moment of the night was the surprise that PASP reserved. To footballer Andrea Makris, giving him a special Fair Play Award for his energy in AEL – New Salamis. Recall that as part of the 20th match, with a 0-0 score, New Salamis footballer Serge Leuko, while just outside his team’s area, possessed the ball as he was injured. The AEL footballer was in an extremely advantageous position and while he could get the ball and continue, he took it out! The awarding to Andreas Makri was made on behalf of PASP, the New Salamis Team Manager, Vassilis Karanikolas.
