Baku, Azerbaijan, April 11. Azerbaijan is
already testing pilot projects in areas such as healthcare,
education, agriculture, sports, and digital government for the
responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI), the Executive
Director of the Analysis and Coordination Center for the 4th
Industrial Revolution (C4IR), Fariz Jafarov said, Trend reports.

He made the remark at the 6th International Artificial
Intelligence and Big Data Forum held at ADA University today.

According to him, the Artificial Intelligence National Strategy
adopted in Azerbaijan defines the country’s path toward ethical,
inclusive, and innovation-driven artificial intelligence and is
based on five main directions.

“Firstly, governance and regulation of artificial intelligence:
creating a regulatory framework, ethical standards, and rules for
its use. Secondly, talent and education: preparing young people for
the future labor market driven by artificial intelligence and
adapting all Azerbaijani citizens to the changes AI will bring.
Thirdly, infrastructure and data ecosystems. Without
supercomputers, data centers, data storage, and high-speed
internet, it is impossible to ensure the development of artificial
intelligence,'” he noted.

Jafarov pointed out that this direction aims to ensure the
availability of high-quality, secure, and appropriate data in the
country.

“The fourth area is research and innovation: supporting the
academic community, startups, and applied research in the field of
AI. And finally, the fifth – international cooperation. Being
isolated from global developments in artificial intelligence will
not lead to positive results. Therefore, it is very important to
establish connections with global partners and help shape a
responsible future for artificial intelligence,” he added.
