Baku, Azerbaijan, April 11. The women’s
competitions at the ongoing European Wrestling Championship have
concluded, Trend
reports.
Azerbaijani wrestler Zhala Aliyeva secured a bronze medal after
a dominant performance in the third-place match, defeating
Finland’s Jenna Hemia with a score of 10:3.
This marks the first and only medal won by the Azerbaijani
women’s wrestling team at the current championship.
Another team member, Alena Kolesnik (59 kg weight category),
also competed for bronze but narrowly lost to Italy’s Aurora Russo
with a score of 1:3.
