In a few days our country will host a great event. It is not a little bit to organize Eurobasket group and find great basketball players in Cyprus who would never come to enjoy them. And more so the internationals in Greece.
I am one of those who say it was worth the budget to see this great basketball event. The games of the event will take place from August 28 to September 4, with the participation of Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Italy, Georgia and Bosnia/Herzegovina.
It is a historical moment for our basketball players and our technical staff, as well as those involved to make this great tournament. The basketball players will have to say to their children that once, in 2025, they found themselves in the parquet and faced great basketball players.
The moment will be historical. But not to be nightmarish! Because in the games that took place last weekend in the Ecommbx Cup, which was also a rehearsal, the differences were big. From Israel we lost 40 points and Serbia with 67 and even some stars did not play.
Clearly our level cannot be compared. And we certainly do not ask for unreal things because, bad lies, we know what our potential are. But everyone should exaggerate themselves for a worthy representation that will be written in the books of Cypriot Basketball History.
