The election of Savva Savva was canceled by the Court of Justice because he is not a permanent resident of the community.
The Limassol Provincial Administration is submitted today, Thursday, the nominations for the post of Mayor Alasa, following the decision of the Interior Ministry to make an alternate election due to the cancellation of the election of Savva Savva, by the Court of Justice, because it is not a resident.
It is recalled that, following an appeal by Emilio Tolphali, a non -candidate by Savva Savva, the Electistry decided to cancel his election from the post of Mayor on October 9, 2024. However, he rejected the Supreme Court last January.
With the opinion of the Legal Service, the Ministry of the Interior announced an alternate election on March 30 for the post of Chairman of the Alas Community Council, with the submission of nominations set for today, March 20, at the offices of the Limassol Provincial Administration between 9.00am. and 12.30pm
As stated in the relevant notification published last Friday, in the Official Journal of the Republic, each submission document must be signed by two voters, whose names are included in the Alasa Community electoral list and who sign the application, one as proposal and the other.
The nominations will be submitted to the Deputy Commander of Limassol, Electra Panagiotou, who was appointed by the Minister of the Interior as an alternate officer.
