Comes the panic button for victims of domestic violence

The Minister of Justice met today with the president and members of the National Coordinator for the Prevention and Fight against Violence against Women.

The assurance that members of the National Coordinating Body for the Prevention and Fight against Violence against Women will make the most of the achievement of the coordinating body’s objectives, expressed by the Minister of Justice and Public Order Marios Hartsiotis, who assured that the next time would be assured that domestic violence.

Mr Hartsiotis pointed out that it is a highest priority of himself and the government to prevent and address violence against women, and that it supports the work of the prevention and combating violence against women in many ways.

The Minister of Justice met today with the President and the members of the National Coordinating Body for the prevention and combating violence against women, who were appointed after the recent decision of the Council of Ministers, dated 26 February 2025.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Justice, the minister congratulated the members of their appointment and expressed confidence that with their extensive knowledge and experiences on the issues of prevention and combating violence against women will make the most of the achievement of the coordinator’s objectives.

It is noted that the coordinating body is responsible for coordinating, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating policies and measures to prevent and combat all forms of violence against women at national level.

The Coordinating Body has implemented a series of important actions, such as the preparation of the first national strategy and the first national action plan to prevent and combat gender -based violence, training of various groups of professionals involved in the management of gender -based cases,

What is left, the Minister stressed, is to pursue the development of any possible synergy and cooperation with all the relevant government and non -governmental and non -governmental relevance, in order for new laws and multiple tools and policy measures we have at our disposal to be fully implemented and, at the same time, to be fully evaluated.
