What the Ministry of Education announced.

Extension for the electronic registration of the first grade students for the school year 2025-2026 in Public Gymnasiums, until Friday, April 4, 2025, the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth announced Friday.

All children of any nationality who reside in Cyprus have the right to register, regardless of the legal or non -residence of their parents/guardians, it is said.

It is noted that pupils who attend private elementary schools of similar or different types and wish to enroll in the First Class of Public Gymnasium should submit an electronic registration request through the HEADA system, as well as the other students and students, and to attend the students.

According to the ministry, for the registration of the students of the First Class of Gymnasium, the parents/guardians should create an account in Cy Login. Parents/guardians who do not have a Cy Login account can follow the relevant procedure described in the following links https://cge.cyprus.gov.cy/cyLoginregistration/register/startindidual-registration and https://youtu.be/enhbkhglqyo (video).

Parents/guardians who will face any problem with creating CY LOGIN account can communicate with citizen service centers.

After creating CY LOGIN account, parents/guardians should go to the EDEA portal at the link https://dea.schools.ac.cy and choose a “Parent/Garden Gate”, it is reported.

Entrance is made by entering the username and password of the CY LOGIN account.

After entering the system, parents/guardians can access the EDEA use guide by pressing the “Help” option, and can also watch the relevant video guide to the following link: www.youtube.com/embed/tcznji9fxia?si=w

Parents/Guardians who will face any problems in the next steps (parent/guardian profile, student/student profile, student/student registration application, registration application and transfer process) can contact 22558618 or send e-mail to e-mail.

It is added that as the first step after entering the EDEA web portal, parents/guardians must create the parent/guardian profile from the “Parent/Guardian Profile Management” menu. The parents/guardians then have to create the student/student profile from the “Student/Student Profile Management” menu.

For pupils whose details cannot be confirmed by the population archive, an identity card or an alien registration card (ARC) is required, which must be scanned and attached to the system.

Upon completion of the student/student profile, parents/guardians can proceed with the registration request from the “Services for Parents/Guardians” menu by selecting “Registration”.

It is noted that the EDEA system will determine the student’s high school. In the event that the High School is not determined by the EDEA system, the parents/guardians should contact the relevant District Secondary Education Office for further instructions and to determine the Gymnasium.

Upon completion of the submission, the request will be registered as a “pending validation”, which means that it has been submitted and is expected to check- approval by each school.

It is noted that in order to successfully complete the above procedure, parents/guardians should attach all required certificates/documents/forms.

According to the ministry, from March 4, 2025 to April 4, 2025, the school will study all electronic registration applications, with the relevant attachments, and will check their correctness.

It is added that parents/guardians will be notified through the system either for approval of the registration or to complete/attach specific information/data/information/forms.

Parents/guardians will be able to complete/attach specific data/information/forms by 8 April 2025, if required, to approve the registration.

The school will study all electronic registration applications for which information/data/information/forms were expected by April 1025. Parents/guardians will be notified through the system for approval of registration. If for any reason there are still pending school, the school communicates by telephone with parents/guardians to complete the registration.

It is noted that parents/guardians, who wish their child transfer to a school other than the school already determined by the system, will be able to submit an online transcription from April 9, 2025 to April 24, 2025, adding that there will be no other applications.

In order to be able to apply for transcript, parents/guardians must have previously followed the procedure as described in paragraphs 1 and 2 in order to register their child to the school who specifies the system and receive approval.

To submit a transfer application, parents/guardians should go to the EDEA Portal and from the “Parents/Guardians” menu, select “transfers”. Subsequently, they should register and justify the transfer ratio, register the destination school and submit the transfer application.

The approval or rejection of the transfer applications will be done through the EDEA Electronic System. Specifically, both parents/guardians and schools affected will be informed through the system. The student, if his transfer is approved, will be automatically transferred to the new school through the system, without having to register with the new school again.
