The South Korean constitutional court today confirmed, in its unanimous ruling, the dismissal of President Yun Shock Gel from his office, which is now being final and irrevocable, due to the devastating declaration of military law he proceeded on the night of 3 to 4.

In the extremely heavy state’s verdict of the institution, which was read for 23 minutes by its president, Moon Hung-EIA, the Constitutional Court stressed that Mr Yun “violated fundamental principles of the rule of law and democratic governance” and the law itself.

Mr Yun “was not limited to declaring military law, but committed actions that violated the Constitution and legislation, especially by mobilizing the Armed Forces and the Police to prevent parliament from performing his duties,” the verdict said.

All members of the top court decided to “dismiss” Yun, he notes, confirming that the Parliament was adopted on December 14th.

This decision means Mr Yun’s immediate removal from power. So far it was simply paused. It also means that they should be held within 60 days of early presidential elections.

Mr Yun is also confronted with a criminal proceedings for a “rebellion” – an offense that carries a life sentence, and even the death penalty under South Korean legislation.

Mr Yun’s faction has announced that he “accepts” the constitutional court ruling, calling on no violent incidents.

Shortly ago, police arrested a demonstrator who broke her bus window, according to the South Korean National News Agency Yonhap.

South Korea’s president, Han Duk-SA, promised that he would not allow any “gap” in Seoul’s national security and diplomacy.
