How the prices of goods ranged in February

In a total of 45 categories of basic products, 13 categories recorded increase, while 32 categories recorded a reduction

A significant decrease in inflation rate to 1.9% versus 2.5% in January and 2.6% in December, the Consumer Product Price Observatory for February 2025 announced by the Consumer Protection Service.

The Observatory presents the average weighted price for 250 basic consumer products (food and other products) based on quantities and prices per day, in which these products were allocated to 400 retail stores Pancyprian throughout the month.

The purpose of the Observatory is to disposal to the consumer of an objective comparative imprint of market prices from all retail stores, supermarkets, bakeries, ovens, kiosks and more.

In conclusion, the valuation made for February shows a significant decrease in inflation to 1.9% versus 2.5% in January and 2.6% in December, which is due to the changes recorded by the “clothing and footwear” categories by -5.1%, ” “Food and Non -Alcoholic Drinks” by +2.25%.

The largest increase in the classroom was recorded by agricultural products with a change of 6.9% against February 2024 and 2.7% compared to January 2025.

The fluctuations recorded by the Statistical Service are largely reflected in the prices recorded by the February Observatory, in which, in a total of 45 categories of basic products, 13 categories recorded an increase, of which 6 more than 1%, while 32 categories recorded a decrease.

Specifically, an increase over the previous month they recorded:

– frozen burgers +16.5% ( +12.8% against February 2024)

– Vegetables and greens by +14.0% ( +45.6% against February 2024)

– Fresh fish and mollusks by +8.0% ( +18.9% versus February 2024)

– Vegetable cooking fat by +3.9% (-7.6% against February 2024)

– Frozen meat/pre-pre-propelled by +2.9% (-1.0% versus February 2024)

– LPG cylinder by +2.1% ( +9.5% against February 2024)

– Cypriot coffee by +1.4% ( +13.2% against February 2024)

A decrease over the previous month recorded 32 categories with more important:

-Frozen mollusks/shellfish by -19.8% (-18.1% versus February 2024)

-Frozen fish by -7.4% (-4.6% against February 2024)

-cheeses by -2.7% (-6.0% versus February 2024)

– Fresh meat/poultry/rabbit by -2.5% (+5.7% versus February 2024)

-Meat canned by -2.4% (-1.8% versus February 2024)

-Frozen Fish Panes/Adopted by -2.4% (-15.0% against February 2024)

– Breakfast cereals by -2.0% (+1.7% against February 2024)

– legumes by -1.8% (+1.7% versus February 2024)

– Baby foods by -1.8% (+7.3% against January 2024)

-charcoal -1.8% (-1.6% versus February 2024)

-frozen pasta by -1.7% (-3.7% versus February 2024)

-pasta by -1.5% (-4.5% versus February 2024)

The Consumer Protection Service clarifies that price observatories are prepared solely for consumer information purposes and are in no way advice.

Price observatories are not intended and can not substitute for the market research that each consumer must do on the basis of their own preferences, data and needs, nor do they intend to indicate consumers the points of sale they choose or specific products.

Particularly noted that some of the products included in the Observatory have qualitative differences, which cannot be determined. To this end, the Service encourages consumers as they do substantial market research before purchasing, taking into account the results of this observatory.
