Announcement denouncing the imposition of a advance payment of 100 euros by PASYKI.
The announcement follows:
PASYKI It expresses its strong disagreement with the imposition of 100 euros for the access of patients to the accidents and emergencies (TAEPs), describing the measure incompatible with the principles of medical ethics and universal right of access to health.
TAEPs of public hospitals are a neuralgic space for emergencies. Any intervention that creates barriers to access, especially for social and economically vulnerable groups, endangers public health.
PASYKI He points out that the decision was taken by the administration of OKYPY. Without the necessary consultation with the immediate health professionals involved, which creates serious functional and ethical issues.
There have already been incidents that highlight the dangers of implementation of the measure, both for the quality of the services provided and the confidence of citizens in the general health system.
PASYKI calls for immediate suspension and re -examination of the measure, stressing that:
- Access to emergency medical care cannot depend on the patient’s financial ability.
- Medical practice cannot be subject to procedures that undermine the independence and responsibility of doctors.
Finally, PASYKI It calls on the state to be formally and clearly positioned whether or not it supports this practice and its impact on the operation of TAEPs and equal access to health services.
