The Junian government government is in charge of implementing democratic reforms in view of the new elections scheduled to take place by June 2026.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Monty met on Friday with neighboring Bangladesh leader Mohammed Junus at the first meeting after the Dhaka uprising that overturned Prime Minister Hassina and deteriorated bilateral relations.

The winner of the Nobel Prize in Mohammed Juns, 84, took over the presidency of Bangladesh in August 2024. Hassina was overthrown after a student leadership and escaped helicopter in India.

On Friday, Juno posted a photo on social media that shows him to give his hands to Monty, and Saficul Alamic secretary later said that “the meeting was constructive, productive and fertile”.

Their meeting was held on the sidelines of a regional summit in Thailand.

Junus also shared a photo of the two men who were smiling as he handed Monti a photo with a frame a decade ago, when the Indian leader in 2015 honored Junon with a gold medal for his work to eliminate poverty.

There was no immediate statement from New Delhi on Friday’s meeting.

Juno, according to his press secretary, also raised Monti the issue of Hassina’s issue to face charges of crimes against humanity for the murder of hundreds of demonstrators during riots that overturned its government.
