Federal mandate by General Public Prosecutor Pam Bodi for Luigi Manion – Crime is described as “deliberate execution”
The imposition of the death penalty on Luigi Madzionone, the 26 -year -old accused of killing United Managing Director Brian Thomson, was announced Tuesday by US Attorney General Pam Bodi.
Thompson, the father of two children, fell dead on December 4, 2024, outside a hotel in Manhattan, when he was attacked by authorities, according to authorities, “cold, pre -planned and clear motivation”.
“The assassination of Brian Thomson was a cold, deliberate execution that shocked America. Following a thorough evaluation, I ordered the federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty by implementing President Trump’s plan to tackle violent crime and the security of American citizens, “Bodi said.
Mandzion is facing both federal and state accusations for homicide, with the federal prosecution including a firearm -using murder category – an act that can bring about the death penalty.
On the contrary, the maximum penalty at the state level is life imprisonment. The defendant has declared innocent in the state prosecution and has not yet responded to the federal categories.
So far, Mandzionone’s lawyers have not made a public post after the Attorney General’s announcement.
According to the data presented by the prosecutors, Mandzione kept handwritten notes in a notebook, where he expressed open hostility to the insurance industry and the wealthy CEO. In August 2024, he said that “the target is insurance” because “it meets everything”, while in October he wrote about his intention to “clean” a CEO insurance company.
Unitedhealthcare, the largest health insurance provider in the US, said Madzionone was never a client.
