Chartsiotis did not attend the lawyer, although invited as MPs mentioned.
The two levels of investigations, administrative investigation and investigation in relation to possible criminal offenses, was requested by Police Chief Themistos Arnaoutis following instructions by the Minister of Justice and Public Order Marios Hartsiotis, in relation to what happened to the Protest Legal Committee that the investigation is expected to be completed in a month.
MPs’ reactions to chaos and hassle, as they said, brought to the drivers, the event with the closure of the motorway, with the police chief to avoid answering the series of questions from the two investigations. Members also referred to the non -presence of the Minister of Justice to the Commission despite being invited.
Mr Arnaoutis suggested that the session be postponed due to investigations on the issue with AKEL MP Excellent Damianos stating that the leader does not have the right to request that the Law Committee do not take a parliamentary audit.
“In order not to prejudice any outcome of the two investigations, my suggestion is to postpone the discussion of the matter,” the police chief said.
Eventually the session continued and speaking to the committee, Mr Arnaoutis said that on Monday, the following day of the protest, he asked Larnaca Police Director and received a report of “about what happened before and during the event”.
He also said that he had raised the matter to the Minister of Justice and yesterday with instructions “I proceeded with and gave instructions to launch a two -level investigation”.
Mr Arnaoutis said that the first level is the conduct of administrative investigation, which “will cover all the handling of the police, both before and at the event”.
He added that the second is the investigation in relation to the commitment of possible criminal offenses by any person during the event.
Commission President Nikos Turnaritis said a new session would be held on April 23 at 9:00 am, in which the Minister of Justice will be invited to attend.
