Two years after the voting of the pension and even some beneficiary civil servants have not fully received all the compensation they correspond to.
A group of civil servants, who has retired relatively recently, is complaining that they are not covered by the new pension plan which was voted in December 2022. That is, although they have worked for some years in the State, they do not have the earnings received and received by the rest of the public.
According to the chairman of the Committee on Pension Public Retirement Benefits (EDASOD), Ioannis Tritonos, two years have passed since the voting of the pension plan, and even the beneficiaries did not fully receive all the compensation they had. As he said, the formula created by the Treasury gave the wrong calculation of the benefits for each beneficiary. For example, the president of EDASOD explained, from the lump sum paid was deducted an amount corresponding to 3% of our earnings after 2014. This cut was not applied to colleagues who retired after the new law was passed, he added. He noted that a few days ago a letter was sent to the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, to inform him and the answer is expected.
