He has severely condemned the court’s ruling, describing it as “shameful”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is due to visit Hungary on April 2, his office announced today, despite the arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
During his visit, Netanyahu is expected to meet with Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban and other senior Hungarian officials before returning to Israel on April 6th.
Orban’s invitation
Orban addressed Netanyahu’s invitation despite the arrest warrant of the ICC issued last year. He has severely condemned the court’s ruling, describing it as “shameful”.
The ICT has issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Joab Gandle for alleged crimes against humanity and war crimes in relation to Israel’s military operation against Hamas in Gaza, which began when the armed Palestinian was launched.
