Open Putin in smoothing relationships with Finland

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has informed Kir Starmer’s British counterpart yesterday that Helsinki needs to prepare to restore links with Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is open to normalizing his country’s relations with Finland, though Helsinki wishes it, the Kremlin said, and as his spokesman said, Dmitry Peskov, the two countries’ relations are in “bad”.

Finland, which shares with Russia a 1,300 -kilometer border, joined NATO in 2023, which Moscow had a historical mistake at that time.

Regarding the risk of imposing additional sanctions on Russian oil by US President Trump, the Kremlin responded that Moscow was continuing talks with the American side, while the possibility of a peacekeeping agreement to end the war in Ukraine.

At the same time, the Kremlin has announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin will later have talks today with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Y, who is paying a three -day visit to Moscow.

Wang described China and Russia as “everlasting friends, never enemies” in an interview he gave today to the state-run news agency RIA, in which he welcomed signs of normalizing US-Russia ties.
