
Baku, Azerbaijan, April 11. The latest meeting
of the Economic Council took place on April 11, the Cabinet of
Ministers told Trend.
The meeting, chaired by the head of the Economic Council of the
Republic of Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Ali Asadov, focused on
priority spending areas outlined by the President of the Republic
of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, for the period from 2026 to 2029;
medium-term budgetary frameworks (MTBF), key directions and target
indicators for budget policy; preliminary macroeconomic forecasts;
and macrofiscal frameworks for the medium term. Additionally, it
covered projected indicators for the state and consolidated budgets
for 2026 and the following three years, budget sustainability, and
other current issues.
A detailed presentation was made by the Minister of Finance,
Sahil Babayev, regarding the MTBF and budget forecasts for 2026 and
the following three years. Members of the Economic Council also
gave speeches, and discussions took place on the highlighted
topics.
Following the meeting, decisions were made on the budget
forecasts, taking into account the opinions and proposals of the
Economic Council members. The Ministry of Finance and other
relevant agencies received instructions for preparing the budget
package for the coming year.
