
Baku, Azerbaijan, April 12. Azerbaijani Foreign
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Maldivian Foreign Minister
Abdulla Khalil as part of his participation in the Antalya
Diplomacy Forum, Trend reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign
Ministry.
The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation in trade,
economic, investment, tourism, humanitarian and other areas. During
the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United
Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which was
held in our country last year, the significance of the visit of the
President of the Maldives to Azerbaijan and the meetings held at
the highest and high levels was noted. The importance of using the
mechanism of political consultations in developing cooperation
between Azerbaijan and the Maldives was also emphasized. The issues
discussed during the Azerbaijani government mission to the Maldives
were considered in this context.
Speaking about the possibilities of cooperation in the field of
tourism, the ministers noted that the opening of direct flights
between two countries since last year is important in terms of
expanding the travel opportunities created for their citizens.
Possibilities of mutual support and cooperation within the
framework of regional and international organizations, including
the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the
Non-Aligned Movement, were discussed.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues
of mutual interest.
