French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday honoured some 100 craftspeople who helped restore the Notre-Dame Cathedral after the Gothic Parisian masterpiece was ravaged by a devastating fire in 2019. While bestowing the medals, Macron praised the workers for making the cathedral “more beautiful than it was before”.
