Three people were killed and two are missing after severe storms that caused floods in the VAR area of Southeast France.
The rain has also caused extensive damage, as Meteo-France, the country’s national meteorological service, has put the area on an orange alarm for rain, floods and thunderstorms, the French television network BFM TV said.
An elderly couple was found dead in his car in the Cavalier area, local media reported. Their car was dragged by the flood waters as they were trying to leave their homes, prosecutors said.

Another woman was found dead inside her vehicle in the Vintoban community.
