FIFPRO Europe was informed by the Dutch Foundation “Justice for Players” about the launch of a collective action against FIFA with the aim of seeking compensation for the damage suffered by all footballers, now and former, by FIFA regulations, which were found illegal by the European Court of Justice.
For the FIFPRO Europe, the creation of this institution is the expected practical response to the Diarra court ruling, as it now gathers in a single context of representing the interests of the affected footballers, with broader extensions to the football industry.
Based on its founding principles and statutes, FIFPRO Europe recognizes the fundamental right of players to claim justice in relation to the most important and long-term non-poaching Agreement agreement.
FIFPRO Europe, coordinated with FIFPRO, will devote the time necessary to evaluate the Foundation’s initiative in detail.
As the collective voice of professional footballers in Europe, the Fifpro Europe will always support the fair compensation of the affected players whose rights have been affected, while promoting substantial reforms to build a more inclusive model. This approach aims to protect the previous, today’s and future generations of players from unilateral and arbitrary decision -making processes that undermine or harm fundamental labor rights and fair competition.
FIFPRO Europe remains committed to promoting constructive dialogue and partnerships with competent football and public bodies, with the aim of ensuring the long -term viability of football both at national and internationally.
