The European Union and Australia struck a long-awaited free-trade deal on Tuesday, as the bloc seeks to diversify its export markets and expand ties beyond ​its traditional partners. The deal, however, has drawn stern criticism from European farmers groups who called concessions easing exports of Australian beef, sugar and lamb to the EU “unacceptable”.
