Growth in the digital book market in Cyprus, according to Eurostat

Cyprus records a percentage of 7.87% of residents who used the internet in the last three months and bought e-books or audiobooks in the quarter before the 2025 household ICT use survey.

According to data published on Thursday by Eurostat, at European Union level, 9.5% of residents who had used the internet in the corresponding period bought e-books or audiobooks, compared to 7.3% in 2024.

The highest percentages were recorded in Ireland with 24.5%, Denmark with 22.5% and Croatia with 21.0%. Conversely, the lowest rates, below 5%, were recorded in Hungary, Italy, Slovenia and Latvia.

In terms of change from 2024, Croatia saw the largest increase at 16%, followed by Greece at 7.2%, Cyprus at 4.0% and Germany at 3.7%. A decrease was recorded in Finland with -4.8%, in Portugal with -1.6% and in Malta with -0.1%.
