Paris Saint-Germain experienced apotheosis in Paris after winning the second Champions League in its history, with tens of thousands of fans turning the city into an endless festive scene. The celebrations culminated the day after the final, when the European champions returned to the French capital, boarded the open coach and were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd that had packed the Champ de Mar (Field of Mars), in front of the Eiffel Tower.

More than 100,000 gathered at the iconic venue to watch Luis Enrique’s footballers present the prestigious trophy. With flags, smoke bombs and slogans, the atmosphere was reminiscent of a national holiday, while the players idolized the world who had waited decades for this moment. The festive program included music, videos of the team’s journey to the top of Europe and constant displays of excitement from the fans.

This was followed by the official reception of the mission at the Elysee Palace by the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, who congratulated the team on its historic achievement. At the same time, however, he also referred to the serious incidents that took place on the night of the final in various regions of the country, stressing that the images of violence and destruction cannot overshadow the great success of PSG, nor can they be accepted in the name of celebrations.

The celebrations ended at the Parc des Princes, where thousands of fans had the opportunity to see the protagonists of the historic night up close again. The presentation of the trophy inside the stadium was the final chapter of a day that will be etched in the memory of the team’s fans as PSG finally celebrated winning Europe’s top title after years of struggle and disappointment.

Despite isolated incidents that marred some of the celebrations, the prevailing image was that of a city celebrating the greatest footballing success in its modern history. Paris wore the colors of PSG and for one day lived at the pace of the European champions.
