“If you hit me again, I will call the police” were the voices of the 39-year-old mother of two minor children, who was found murdered by her husband in their apartment in Kalamata, according to the first testimonies of the neighbors in ERTnews. Their two minor children were sleeping in the next room, when shortly after two in the morning the screams of the unfortunate woman “raised” the neighborhood.
The date of the arrest and the confession
It was just after 2 amwhen neighbors heard them shrill voices of the unfortunate woman to come from the apartment.
The police arrived at the apartment, where the 41-year-old husband opened the door and was covered in blood, while the His 39-year-old wife was found dead in their bedroom, next to the bed, with multiple stab wounds in her hand.
The 41-year-old, who confessed to his act, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, domestic violence and violation of weapons laws. The pre-investigation process is in full progress so that the police officers of the Kalamata Crime Investigation and Prosecution Sub-Directorate can ascertain the reasons that led him to this act.
The children were at home at the time of the murder
The most tragic aspect of the case is that the crime was committed at a time when the couple’s two minor children, aged 10 and 6, were at home. The children were safely removed by the authorities and taken to Pediatric Clinic of Kalamata Hospital for preventive reasons and psychological support.

«A 41-year-old citizen was arrested, today (1.6.2026) in the early hours of the morning, in Kalamata, by police officers of the Kalamata Prosecution and Crime Investigation Sub-Directorate, in cooperation with police officers of the Kalamata Traffic Department, against whom a case file was filed for intentional homicide, domestic violence and violation of weapons legislation.
In particular, today and in the early hours of the morning, the above police officers, following complaints, rushed to a house, where inside it, a 39-year-old local woman was found, unconscious, with injuries from a sharp object (knife).
Her 41-year-old husband was in the said house, who was brought in and arrested, as he confessed to his act, while the above knife was confiscated.
The arrested person will be taken to the Prosecutor of First Instance of Messinia, while the preliminary investigation is carried out by the Directorate of Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes of Kalamata, to investigate the exact circumstances of the commission of the criminal act».
