Pedro Martinez is one step away from taking over as Real Madrid manager, according to Spanish reports, in a development expected to cause a reshuffle at the Madrid club.
The Merengues, who have yet to officially announce the departure of Sergio Scariolo, are said to be very close to agreeing a deal with the 62-year-old coach, who led Valencia to a historic season, including a first appearance in the Euroleague Final Four, as well as winning the Supercopa Endesa and Liga Endesa, while presenting one of the most attractive playing faces in Europe.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, Real Madrid are willing to pay Valencia’s €1 million release clause and sign the Spanish coach to a three-year contract.
