Driving style also plays an important role. Sharp presses on the gas, hard braking and constant gear changes increase consumption. Smooth acceleration and maintaining a constant speed, especially on motorways, can significantly reduce fuel consumption.
In Cypriot cities, where drivers often move in conditions of increased traffic, it also helps to properly plan the route and avoid rush hours. Prolonged idling of the engine consumes fuel without providing movement.
Care must also be taken when using air conditioning. In the summer months it is essential, however the excessively low temperature increases the consumption. Ventilating the car before starting and judiciously adjusting the air conditioning can make all the difference.
Finally, removing unnecessary weight from the trunk and regular vehicle maintenance contribute to more economical, safe and efficient driving.
