A 28-year-old Egyptian man was arrested on the evening of Wednesday, July 22, by D.AOE police officers for the murder of the criminologist Stavros Georgiou in Greece.

There was also an arrest warrant against him for neglect of a minor in 2024.

The perpetrator confessed that they met the victim through a mutual friend with whom they had earlier gone out and had fun.

As he described, when they got back to the house he grabbed the criminologist’s head and started banging it against the walls and nightstands until he left him on the floor and immediately after that he took money and a laptop he found and disappeared.

The well-known criminologist Stavros Georgiou was murdered on Tuesday night with repeated blows to the face and the assailant left him dead inside the house and office he used in the center of Athens.
