Anti Pons wants to think that Xavi Roca has found him with the acquisition of Slovenian international central midfielder Jan Repas. It is a fact that after the departure of Roden and Pons, there is a big void in the yellow-green midfield, especially in terms of footballers who have organizational skills in their game.
In the person of Repas, Larnaca believe they have found the “Box to Box” midfielder they were looking for, that is, a player with a lot of runs, who will provide both suspensions and organization. AEK announced on Saturday the agreement in principle with the 29-year-old footballer for the next two years. Upon his arrival in Cyprus, he will undergo the necessary medical examinations and sign his contract.
Since 2020, Repas has been playing in Maribor, recording a total of 188 appearances and 24 goals. It previously belonged to French Caen. In the completed season, he had 27 appearances with Maribor, scoring three goals, while providing nine assists. He competes as a central midfielder, serving with equal ease the “6” and “8” positions, while he can also compete as a left midfielder. According to Trasfermarkt, its value reaches 600 thousand euros.
It is worth noting that Mauro Camoranesi had a football player, Gian Repas, in the 2020-21 season in Maribor. As such, he is well aware of the capabilities of the Slovenian midfielder, who has played in 37 European club matches in his career, has four caps for his country’s national team, and has also been capped by Slovenia’s minor national teams.
Repas is AEK’s 7th summer transfer, after Muftits, Peleas, Adonis, Anderegen, Pankov and Layouni.
Preparation begins

The footballers will undergo medical and ergometric tests, while the first training session is scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday.
