The two-week truce period between the US and Iran, which was announced yesterday by US President Donald Trump and agreed upon by Tehran and Israel, began with difficulties and obstacles.
The US accepted Iran’s 10-point proposal, on the condition that the Islamic Republic open the Straits of Hormuz and allow merchant ships to pass through. It is even expected that the two countries will attend negotiations in Islamabad, with the mediation of Pakistan.
Israel, while accepting the cease-fire against Iran, emphasized that it was not going to stop its campaign against Hezbollah, with the Israeli army striking Lebanon en masse. Hezbollah retaliated by firing rockets into Israel after it had also agreed to a ceasefire.
