Secured equipment worth €1.6 million with 100% European funding

The Municipality of Paphos is significantly strengthening its waste management fleet and infrastructure, securing modern equipment with a total value of over €1.6 million, which is financed entirely by European funds.

In the framework of the Political Cohesion Program “THALEIA 2021-2027” and the action of the Department of Environment “Reduction of solid municipal waste of beach hotel units and related waste production sites in the provinces of Limassol and Paphos”, the Municipality received today, July 24, a new modern 8×4 truck.

The receipt of the vehicle is part of a wider plan to upgrade the cleaning equipment of the Municipality, with the aim of improving solid waste management, strengthening environmental protection and promoting the circular economy for the benefit of the citizens.

The program is implemented in collaboration with the Department of the Environment and, through the coordinated actions of the services of the Municipality of Paphos, approval was secured for the supply of equipment with a total value of more than €1.6 million, with 100% financing from European resources.

The Municipality expresses its thanks to the Health Service for its continuous effort, effective coordination and decisive contribution to the successful securing and implementation of the program, which is expected to substantially strengthen the cleaning services and environmental management of the city.
