The police have identified the details of the man who fell from the floor of a building in the Larnaca Port area on the morning of May 27 and died, as part of an operation by members of the Aliens and Immigration Service.
He is a 46-year-old man from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Police managed to identify the deceased shortly after noon and efforts are being made by the Authorities to inform his relatives. He is an asylum seeker, whose application was rejected and he was illegally in the territory of the Republic.
Several foreigners gathered tonight symbolically at a point of the apartment building where they held a peaceful event dedicated to the memory of the deceased 46-year-old.
Those present symbolically lit candles in memory of their friend and compatriot and prayed for his soul and memory.
